I’m so sad this series, in one of my favorite fictional worlds, has to come to a close, but I can’t think of a more perfect story to wrap this series up with. I’m so ridiculously proud of J. Lynn Bailey right now! She is what the world needs more of – goodness and light. Her stories never fail to make me feel wholly at peace after turning the last page and I truly cannot recommend her books enough.

I loved Lydia’s strength and Aaron’s tenderness throughout this story. They paired perfectly together and the slow-burn was everything I relish in while reading this genre. However, my favorite thing about The Granite Harbor Series is that it doesn’t fit neatly into one genre. There is always added suspense and even lowkey supernatural elements, which always makes me giddy while reading. J. Lynn’s personal writing style is masterful.

I loved experiencing the story through both Lydia and Aaron’s perspectives. I think J. Lynn Bailey’s writing shows a lot of growth since the beginning of the series in regards to the dual perspectives. It was enlightening to see how Aaron thought of Lydia, because she didn’t always have those feelings about herself. It was an accurate portrayal of how tough we can be on ourselves, assuming others see us the way we see us. As a single-mother and abuse survivor, it’s easy to imagine how Lydia would be hard on herself and reluctant to trust anyone new. I also enjoyed the nods to books Lydia loved, including It Ends With Us. It’s amazing when the books encourage readers to pick up another book mentioned in the story. It’s a great show of authors helping authors.

This series will stay in my heart for years to come. I can’t recommend it enough.
