This book gave me all of the feelings of excitement I used to enjoy when I first began reading avidly again as an adult years ago. I was blown away by the connection I felt to this story and how badly I didn’t want it to end! There’s something special about a couple of kids falling in love despite everything in the world telling them it’s impossible. This story tugged on my heartstrings and made me feel the rush of young love again.

I can’t believe I waited so long to read this book. I knew how many of my friends loved this book and still, I put it off. Now I can see why this is one of Mia’s most popular novels. It tackles important topics, like mental illness and the difficulties children from poor communities face. This story shows readers how unfairly people of different social classes can be treated and how certain people will rise against a challenge and oppression no matter the cost. I truly loved everything about this story. It’s ingrained in my heart and will hold a special place as one of my favorite books of all time.
