The Liebster Award

Liebster Award Nomination

Ok, let’s talk rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you, and put a link to their blog on your blog.
  2. Answer the 5 creative and unique questions given to you.
  3. Write a small post about what motivates you in life (not just in blogging).
  4. Nominate 2 – 6 blogs that you feel would enjoy blogging about this award.
  5. Create 5 creative and unique questions for your nominees.
  6. List these rules in your post.

I was tagged by two bloggers for this award, so I decided to combine the two awards into one post. Each blogger is tagged above their questions, so please stop by their pages and take a gander. 😉 Thank you both for thinking of me! I can’t wait to answer your questions!

  1. If you could sit down with one living author and one deceased author, who would they be and why?

Living – Tarryn Fisher. I would love to have the time to have a one-on-one conversation with her and pick her brain. Deceased – Laura Ingalls Wilder. We’ve been reading and watching the Little House series lately as a family, so I think it would be interesting to chat with Laura.

  2. Why do you love your favorite book character? Why are they your favorite?

Margo from Marrow (by Tarryn Fisher) is my favorite book character. The struggles she faces in the beginning of the book were very similar to my own and I appreciated the things she learned. The second half of the novel is completely different and I appreciated her evolution. Her refusal to accept injustice is my favorite thing.

  3. What five things could someone use to summon your ghost?

    Haha! This cracks me up!
Tea, books, work out equipment, letters, and my family (even if they’re a few generations away from the present).

  4. What’s one unique skill you have? (It can be anything!)

I’ve recently started thinking of my empathy and intuition as a kind of superpower (I can’t help but be a reader through and through). I’m an excellent judge of character and reader of people. Upon meeting someone, I pretty much have their personality pegged and know whether I could be friends with them or not.

I also have been known to predict when friends are pregnant before they have announced their pregnancies to anyone… it’s strange.

  5. You have the chance to erase half your memories. Do you do it? Why or why not?

Absolutely not. My memories are prized possessions. The thought of losing them would erase a huge part of me – even the bad ones have shaped me into who I am today.

Darina’s Questions:

  1. If you could pick anywhere in the world to be right now where would you pick and why?

The English Countryside. This will forever be my answer.

  2. Do you have any pet peeves?

I have a lot although I consider myself a pretty laid back and accepting person. eeek. The biggest pet peeves are injustice, know-it-alls, and closeminded people.

  3. Do you ever skip to read the last few pages of a book to find out how it ends?

Noooo. No. NO!!!! Ok, only once… I had to flip ahead in New Moon to see if Edward was EVER coming back, otherwise, I was going to throw that book. 😉

  4. If you had to keep only one physical book in your home which book would it be and why?

The Bible. It’s the most important book.

  5. What is your opinion on audiobooks?

I love them! Listening to stories reminds me of being read to by teachers in school. It’s comforting.

  6. Do you have a favorite quote that you like to live by or follow?

I really don’t think I could choose one. There are probably hundreds that often run through my mind at different times. Many Bible verses apply to different situations.

  7. What’s the first thing you like to do when you get back home from a busy day?

Quietly sit on the couch and scroll through Bookstagram. ha! It usually relaxes me.

  8. Imagine you wake up one day only to realise that you are famous. Would you love it or hate it?

Hate it. I actually had a nightmare about dating Prince Harry recently (don’t laugh too much). I was contemplating breaking up with him because I valued privacy more than I liked him.

  9. If the world from Fahrenheit 451 ever becomes a reality how would you react and what would you do?

    I’ve never read it so I can’t say. 😦

  10. Is there a book that made you fall in love with reading?

So many at different times. The Boxcar Children, Nancy Drew, Baby-Sitters Club, Harry Potter, and Slammed by Colleen Hoover.

  11. If you met your five-year-old self right now what advice would you give him/her?

“Remember, God is always with you.”

Great questions, guys!!

My questions:

  1. If you had one extra day in the week, that nobody knew about and didn’t count, what would you with it?
  2. Who do you think is the most over-rated author?
  3. Do you have a bad bookish habit?
  4. Do you have a favorite non-fiction book?
  5. If you had to change your name, what would your new name be, and why would you choose that name?
  6. What quote or saying do people spout but is complete BS?

I’m nominating:

  2. CONGRATS!!!! Totally well deserved ❤ That ghost question is hilarious … so creative! Tea and books I totally relate to … my others would be baked goods, a yoga mat and candles ❤ See … my empathy is a curse … I'm so emotional … but I guess I'd rather be caring than non-caring? Great post!
